Commercial Painting
Offices, retail, hospitality and multi-unit residential — completed on schedule, on budget, and after hours when your operations require it.
The brief
Commercial painting is fundamentally a scheduling problem with a paint job attached. The finish itself is straightforward; what determines success is whether the project is completed on the timeline the building or business actually requires, with minimal disruption to operations, tenants or customers.
Source 4 Painting has delivered commercial projects ranging from single-office tenant repaints to thirty-thousand-square-foot retail buildouts across Nova Scotia. We are experienced with night-shift schedules, weekend turns, occupied-building protocols, and the documentation requirements (insurance certificates, WSIB clearance, COR safety paperwork) that property managers and general contractors expect.
Sectors we serve
Office. Single-suite tenant repaints, full-floor refurbishments and post-tenant turn-over work.
Retail. Storefront and full-interior repaints, often scheduled overnight or between leases to minimize closed-door time.
Hospitality. Restaurants, cafés and small hotels — including kitchen and back-of-house refinishing where appropriate.
Multi-unit residential. Suite turns, common-area refreshes and full building exterior projects for property managers and condo boards.
Light industrial & institutional. Warehouses, workshops and small institutional buildings where durable, high-performance coatings are specified.
Process
We begin with a site walk and an honest assessment of scope, access constraints and timeline. The written estimate that follows includes a detailed schedule, a labour and materials breakdown, a list of any required out-of-hours work and the additional documentation we will supply (insurance certificates, WSIB clearance, safety paperwork) before mobilization.
On larger projects we coordinate directly with the general contractor, property manager or facilities team. We attend pre-construction meetings, supply daily progress reports if requested, and provide a single point of contact (Michael Burns) for the duration of the project.
Materials we specify
Most commercial work is finished with Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200, ProClassic or Pro-Industrial coatings depending on the substrate and the durability required. For high-traffic environments and back-of-house areas we typically specify a satin acrylic or an alkyd-modified urethane that withstands frequent cleaning and impact.
Insurance & compliance
Source 4 Painting carries a $2,000,000 general liability policy and is fully compliant with Nova Scotia Workers' Compensation requirements. Certificates of insurance and WSIB clearance letters can be supplied directly to your property management or general contractor on request.
