1. About these terms

By using source4painting.ca or accepting a quote from us, you agree to these terms. Where a signed project contract or written quote conflicts with this page, that document governs.

2. Quotes and pricing

• Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
• A quote covers the surfaces, coats and products named in it. Work outside that scope is quoted separately and agreed in writing before it starts.
• Conditions that cannot be seen at the walkthrough — rot beneath siding, failed substrates, undisclosed prior coatings — are identified as named contingencies with unit rates wherever possible.
• Prices are exclusive of applicable Minnesota sales tax, which is shown separately on the invoice.

3. Scheduling

• A 25% deposit confirms your dates. Dates are held for seven days pending deposit.
• Exterior work is weather-dependent. We will not coat surfaces below 50°F or within 3°F of dew point; delays for weather are not a breach of these terms and no additional charge arises from them.
• We ask for reasonable access to the property, to water and to power for the agreed hours. Lost days caused by access failures may be rescheduled to the next available slot.

4. Your responsibilities

• Remove valuables, fragile items, wall hangings and personal effects before we arrive.
• Secure pets away from work areas for their safety and ours.
• Disclose known hazards, including lead paint, asbestos-containing materials, mould or structural defects.
• Confirm colours and sheens in writing before we order materials. Colour changes after ordering are chargeable at cost plus labour.

5. Payment

The balance is due on completion, after the punch-list walkthrough. Progress invoices apply on projects running longer than two weeks. Invoices unpaid after 15 days may accrue interest at 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance, to the extent permitted by Minnesota law.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel in writing at any time. Cancellations more than seven days before the start date are refunded in full. Within seven days, we retain documented costs already incurred — typically custom-tinted materials and equipment rental. If we must cancel, your deposit is refunded in full within five business days.

7. Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for three years from completion against peeling, blistering, flaking or cracking arising from our application. The warranty excludes physical damage, moisture intrusion from roofing, plumbing or grading failures, substrate movement, normal wear, and surfaces we advised against coating in writing. Manufacturer defects are handled through the paint supplier, and we will file and manage that claim for you. The warranty is transferable once to a new owner of the same property.

8. Liability

We carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance and will repair damage we cause. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from a project is limited to the amount paid for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

9. Website use and intellectual property

All text, photographs and design on this website belong to Source 4 Painting unless credited otherwise. You may view, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy site content for commercial reuse, scrape it at scale, or represent our project photographs as your own work.

10. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. We ask that you raise any concern with us directly first — most issues are resolved in a phone call and a return visit. Unresolved disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Ramsey County, Minnesota.
