Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most.

If your question isn't covered below, please call +1 902-691-2738 or email michael@source4painting.ca. We answer every inquiry personally and usually within the same business day.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. Source 4 Painting carries a $2,000,000 general liability policy and is fully compliant with Nova Scotia's Workers' Compensation requirements. A copy of our certificate of insurance is available on request before any work begins.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes. Every estimate is free and carries no obligation. We will visit your property at a time that suits you, measure every surface that will be coated, and email you a written line-itemed estimate within 48 hours.

What paint brands do you use?

As standard we use Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams and Sico. For commercial and high-traffic environments we frequently specify Sherwin-Williams Pro-Industrial coatings. We are happy to use a different brand at your request, and we will note the impact on warranty and finish on the written estimate.

How long does a typical interior repaint take?

An average three-bedroom interior repaint, with walls, ceilings and trim, takes our crew between four and seven working days depending on the level of preparation required. We give a precise timeline on the written estimate.

Do you offer a workmanship warranty?

Yes. All interior work carries a written two-year workmanship warranty. If a properly maintained finish fails because of how we applied it, we return and correct the work at no charge.

Do you handle minor drywall repair before painting?

Yes. Nail-pops, hairline cracks, small holes and minor damage are included in our standard interior preparation. Larger repairs and full drywall installation are quoted as a separate line item.

Can you remove wallpaper?

Yes. We perform patient steam-and-strip removal, followed by full wall preparation and priming. The wall is delivered ready for paint or new wallpaper.

Do you paint kitchen cabinets on-site?

We remove doors and drawer fronts and spray them in our temperature- and dust-controlled shop. Cabinet frames are brushed and rolled on site. The result is a far cleaner, more durable finish than spraying in your kitchen.

Are you available for commercial work after hours?

Yes. We routinely schedule commercial projects evenings, overnight and weekends to avoid disrupting your business. Out-of-hours scheduling is included on the written estimate at the same rate.

How do I get started?

Call +1 902-691-2738, email michael@source4painting.ca, or use our online form. We will respond the same business day to arrange a consultation.

Do you require a deposit?

For residential projects under $5,000, no deposit is required. For larger projects and all commercial work we typically request a 25% materials deposit on acceptance of the estimate, with the balance due on completion and walk-through.

What payment methods do you accept?

E-transfer, cheque, cash and most major credit cards. Invoice and receipt are issued by email.
