Source 4 Painting is looking for experienced painters and apprentices to join our team. It’s a fast paced environment, but we do our best to keep is fun and safe. We care about the needs of our employees and do everything within our power to meet those needs.
We paint residential interior and exterior, but also work on some commercial spaces. We also do wallpaper removal, drywall repairs and hardwood refinishing.
We have full WCB coverage.
We are currently looking at hiring in April or May.
-Scraping, sanding, caulking, masking, cutting, rolling, and spraying to name a few. We are willing and able to train the right applicants. All tools and materials are provided for you.
-Drywall, drywall mudding or carpentry experience are assets, but not required.
-A reliable means to get to work, and a cell phone are requirements.
Work is carried out at various locations around the Annapolis Valley, the South Shore and HRM. But mainly the Annapolis Valley.
Please note that work may involve working on Saturdays and Sundays and long days in the spring and summer.
All field staff is paid hourly.
Apprentice: No experience needed but an open mind to learning and motivation to grow. Maybe has a basic knowledge of painting, but is still unable to work alone.
Starting pay is $15.00/HR up to a $17.00/HR cap, plus bonuses.
Painter: Has high knowledge of painting and flow-of-projects. Can be left alone depending on size and scope of job.
Starting pay is $18.00/HR up to a $20.00/HR cap, plus bonuses.
Lead Painter: Must lead by example & teach from experience. Always set the tempo throughout the day and understand attitudes are contagious. Meet deadlines and make sure everyone is on-time.
Starting pay is $21.00/HR and up, plus bonuses.
Bonuses & Allowances
Mileage/Fuel Allowance: If you are using your own vehicle to get to and from job sites and your travel is over 32 km one way, you will be compensated for travel at a rate of $0.50 per km. You must keep a log of your kilometres traveled and submit it weekly no later than Wednesday. Paid out on the last pay run of each month. This Is non taxable as it is an allowance and not a bonus. It will be up to you to turn in your mileage log on time.
Saved Labour Bonus: is based on the man hours given to complete a job. If the crew is given 100 man hours to complete a job and only take 90 man hours to complete it. The remaining value of the man hours left (10 in this case) that the client was billed for is divided in half and paid out among the crew as a bonus. This is taxable income.
Paid Holidays
You will be paid for these days even if you do not work them as long as you qualify.
You will also be paid time and a half for every hour worked.
New Years Day, Heritage Day, Good Friday, Canada Day, Labour Day and Christmas Day
Pay schedule is Bi-Weekly.
